US Citizenship Prep is a private study tool. We are NOT part of the U.S. government. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to USCIS, the Department of Homeland Security, or any government agency.

We do not give legal or immigration advice, and no one who works on this app can give you immigration advice. Nothing here can tell you whether you qualify for citizenship, how to fill out your forms, or what to say in your real interview about your own case. Practicing here does not guarantee you will pass the real test.

For help with your own case, use a licensed immigration attorney or a DOJ-accredited representative. Be careful of "notarios" or "immigration consultants" who charge for services they are not qualified to provide. Official information is always free at uscis.gov/citizenship.

These terms are a simple agreement between you and US Citizenship Prep ("we," "us"). By using the app, you agree to them. We kept them short and plain on purpose.

1. What the app is

US Citizenship Prep helps you practice for the USCIS naturalization test:

  • Study the official civics questions (2008 and 2025 versions) with sources
  • Practice a short daily session and take practice quizzes
  • Rehearse a simulated interview with a fictional officer (video clips of a computer-generated character — not a real person, not a real officer)

It is a rehearsal space. The real interview may be different: real officers can rephrase questions, ask follow-ups, and make their own judgments.

2. Subscription and payment

The app is sold as one subscription: a 3-day free trial, then $3.99 USD per week, renewing weekly until you cancel. It includes every feature: the full question banks, daily practice, quizzes and simulations, the mock interviews and N-400 practice, and progress tracking. The public question pages are free without an account.

  • Free trial. The trial is free for 3 days and is offered once per account. You add a payment method when you start it; nothing is charged during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not charged.
  • Recurring billing. When the trial ends, your card is charged $3.99 USD and then every week on the same day until you cancel. Taxes are added only where the checkout page shows them.
  • Cancel anytime. Cancel from Settings (Manage billing). After the trial, your access continues until the end of the week you already paid for; you are not charged again. We do not refund partial weeks.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment itself.
  • Failed payments. If a renewal fails, Stripe retries it for a short time and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. If it still fails, your access ends until you update your payment method.
  • Price changes. If we change the price, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
  • No promises of results. Paying for the app does not change the disclaimer above: practice here does not guarantee you will pass.

The app may still be down, slow, or changed from time to time; we will try to warn you before anything that affects your saved progress.

3. Your account

  • You can sign up with an email and password, or just start practicing — if you do, we create an anonymous account for you automatically (see the Privacy Policy for how that works and when it's deleted).
  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One account per person, please. Don't create accounts by script or bot.
  • You must be at least 13 to use the app. It is designed for adults preparing for naturalization.

4. Practice answers — use made-up details

For interview practice (especially N-400 rehearsal), we encourage you to invent the personal details — a made-up address, job, and family work exactly as well. Never type real case numbers, A-Numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive identifiers into practice answers. The app never asks for them and never needs them.

5. What the grading is — and is not

  • The app grades your practice answers against the official USCIS study answers only. It checks whether your answer matched the study key — nothing more.
  • In N-400 practice, feedback is only about whether you answered the question clearly (comprehension and responsiveness). It is never a judgment about whether your real answers are legally correct, sufficient, or "safe" for USCIS. The app cannot and does not evaluate your eligibility.
  • Time-sensitive answers (like current officials) change with elections. We keep them updated and show sources and "last verified" dates, but always double-check at uscis.gov/citizenship/testupdates before your real interview.
  • If you think we graded a practice answer wrong, use "I believe my answer was correct" and we'll review it.

6. Fair use

Please don't:

  • Break, probe, or overload the service (we rate-limit by account and by network to keep it available for everyone — on a shared network like a classroom, heavy use may briefly pause with a "try again in a moment" message)
  • Try to access other people's data
  • Scrape the service or resell access to it
  • Upload anything illegal or harmful
  • Use the app to give others the impression it is a government service

We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service.

7. Content and ownership

  • The civics questions and official answers are published by USCIS and belong to the public. We show them verbatim, with sources.
  • Everything else — the app, its design, its explanations, and the fictional interviewer character and videos — belongs to us. You may use it for your own personal study, not to build a competing service.
  • Your practice answers are yours. You give us permission to store and process them just to run the app for you (see the Privacy Policy).

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect (and what we refuse to collect — no audio recordings, no documents, no A-Numbers), who processes it, and how to delete everything. It is part of these terms.

9. No warranties (plain-English version)

The app is provided "as is." We work hard on accuracy — official questions are transcribed verbatim and verified against the USCIS source — but we cannot promise the app is error-free, always available, or that it fits your particular situation. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

10. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including the outcome of any immigration application or interview. The app is a practice tool; our total liability for any claim is limited to $50 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.

Some places don't allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Ending things

You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete account). We can suspend or end accounts that violate these terms, and we can end the service itself. If we end the service, we will give you notice, stop charging you, and refund any part of a month you paid for but could not use.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top and show a notice in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [state — to be added before public launch], USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law of your home state or country guarantees you.
